Uninstalling Scanner Driver on Mac
Goal:
To uninstall the scanner driver on Mac.
Step 1: Click on Macintosh HD
on your desktop.
- a.If you do not have
Macintosh HD
on your desktop, go to Finder Preferences, general, and selectHard disks.
Step 2: Delete the kernel mode driver.
- a. In
Macintosh HD,
go to /System/Library/Extensions. - b. Delete the file named
ViKernel.kext
by moving it to the trash. 
Step 3: Delete the TWAIN driver.
- a. In
Macintosh HD,
go to /Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources. - b. Delete the folder named
Visioneer.ds
(If you have a Visioneer scanner) orXerox.ds
(If you have a Xerox scanner) by moving it to the trash (If you have a .ds file that is titled with your specific scanner model, delete that as well). 
Step 4: Delete the ICA driver.
- a. In
Macintosh HD,
go to Library/Image Capture/Devices. - b. Delete the file named
VisioneerICA Scanner
(If you have a Visioneer scanner) orXeroxICA Scanner
(If you have a Xerox scanner) by moving it to the trash (If you have a Scanner file that is titled with your specific scanner model, delete that as well). 
Step 5: Go into your trash for your mac.
- a. Delete all the files you deleted above from the trash.
Step 6: Delete the ICA driver.
- a. Xerox Scanner Download Page (if you have a Xerox scanner)
- b. Visioneer Scanner Download Page (if you have a Visioneer scanner)
