Goal:

If you need to compress the size of your file to transfer it somewhere else, you can select the option in our OneTouch software called “Use MRC”. MRC, or otherwise known as Mixed Raster Content reduces the size of PDF or PDF/A files by flattening the background.

Step 1: Open OneTouch on the bottom right of your taskbar.

Step 2: If prompted, select the scanner that is connected to your PC.

Step 3: Right click on the Scan icon. (Or, for mobile scanners, the Paper In icon)

Step 4: Right click on the PDF format, and select “Use MRC.”

Step 5: Click “Apply” and “OK” to save your changes and exit the properties page. Your files should now be compressed.
