Goal:

We want to redetect the scanner driver.

Step 1: Press the Windows Key and R at the same time. Then type in “devmgmt.msc” without any quotations in the box, and press Enter. In Windows 10, you can also right-click the start button and select “Device Manager“.

Step 2: Look for an “Imaging Devices” Category in Device Manager. CLick on the arrow to the right to expand the list and find your scanner underneath.

Right click the scanner and select “Uninstall Device“.

Step 3: Ensure that the checkbox that says “Delete the Driver Software for this device” is unchecked, and click Uninstall.

Step 4: Unplug the scanner from the computer. After waiting 5 seconds, plug it back in. The scanner should automatically be detected and should reinstall the driver on its own. Once this is complete perform a test scan to see if it works.
