No Communication/OneTouch is Gone
Goal:
To solve an issue where there is no communication or OneTouch is gone
Step 1: Ensure that the scanner is plugged directly into a power outlet and turned on.
- a. If scanner is not turning on, try another outlet or power cord.
Step 2: Ensure that you are connecting the scanner’s USB directly to the back of the PC and not through USB hubs or extension cables.
- a. Try connecting to a different USB port.
- b. Try using a different USB cable.
- c. Avoid using any USB cable that is longer than 6 feet.
Step 3: If you are using OneTouch and it has disappeared, try starting the OneTouch Application.
- a. Refer to the “Start OneTouch Procedure” knowledge base article.
- b. Run a test scan.
Step 4: If your scanner is still not being detected/OT is not appearing, try redetecting your scanner’s driver.
- a. Refer to the “Re-Detect Driver Procedure” knowledge base article.
- b. Run a test scan.
Step 5: If your scanner is still not being detected/OT is not appearing, try forcing your driver.
- a. Refer to the “Force Driver Procedure” knowledge base article.
- b. Run a test scan.
Step 6: If your scanner is still not being detected/OT is not appearing, try repairing scanner driver and OneTouch software.
- a. Refer to the “Repairing Driver and OneTouch” knowledge base article.
- b. Run a test scan.
Step 7: If your scanner is still not being detected/OT is not appearing, try uninstalling and reinstalling your scanner’s driver and OneTouch software using our Removal Tools.
- a. Refer to the “Uninstall with Removal Tools” knowledge base article.
- b. Run a test scan.
