Xerox Announces Document Management To GoNew Xerox Travel Scanner allows users to manage documents from anywhere PLEASANTON, Calif., - September 25, 2008 - Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced a small, yet powerful mobile scanner that handles the document needs of business travelers, from expense receipts to business cards and documents, for only $199.99. The Xerox Travel Scanner 100 shares many of the industry-leading software applications that come bundled with other Xerox DocuMate® scanners, so now users can work with the same tools on the road that they are familiar with in their offices, delivering document management "to go." The Xerox Travel Scanner measures only 2" x 1.5" x 11.4", weighs 10.6 ounces -- less than a can of diet soda -- and has a resolution of 600 dpi with 24-bit color. Because the Xerox Travel Scanner is powered through the USB port on a personal computer, users don't have to worry about finding a wall outlet while on the road. The Travel Scanner also includes patented Paper Driven and AutoLaunch technologies from Visioneer, Inc. so users can automatically start scanning documents as soon as they are inserted into the scanner. "Business professionals want the best, easy-to-use products and full function solutions whether on the go or in the office," said John Capurso, vice president of marketing for Visioneer, Xerox's authorized licensee. "Now business travelers can scan, organize and share any document they encounter, from receipts, business cards, and notes to photos, office documents and directions. The combination of size, mobility and software makes the Xerox Travel Scanner the perfect companion for traveling and mobile professionals." Powerful Yet Easy-to-Use Scanner It features industry-leading software. Included are award-winning Nuance PaperPort document management software; Nuance OmniPage Pro for precision OCR analysis software with advanced layout detection and logical form recognition so that users can create text searchable PDF files without retyping; and NewSoft Presto! BizCard, which accurately reads business card information and imports it to contact managers such as Microsoft Outlook, ACT, and Goldmine, as well as PDAs and smart phones. The Xerox Travel Scanner software enables scanned receipts to be combined with virtually any expense report form. Visioneer OneTouch technology allows users to scan to the "destination" by simply inserting the document into the scanner, eliminating multiple steps usually required to save scanned documents in popular file formats. Integrated with Kofax VRS technology, Visioneer OneTouch technology assures perfect scans from imperfect originals.
